Playing hookie during a heat wave

That settles it - I'm going to Malibu to work on my (now fading) tan.

Shouldn't have eaten my scrambled eggs and hot dog.

A Well balanced Meal

I just wanted to share my well balanced meal from Jack in the Box:

Onion rings - ya know, vegetables
Stuffed jalapenos - well, look at that! More vegetables!
Spicy chicken bites - for my protein intake.

To top it off, I am drinking a medium diet coke.

Sigh...it seems like decades ago that I've written on here...

I love you, iphone

Love is such a strong word. I love my family, friends, puppy, and now, my iphone. When Apple announced the iphone in January, I drooled with tech envy. I'm don't usually got nuts over new gadgets, or game consoles, but I had to get my hands on it. This past Friday, I waited in line with Mikey for about 30 minutes and it was well worth the wait (considering some people in NY had to camp out overnight...yikes!)

I'll try to post some pictures taken from my new toy.

27 June 2007

IT's official...

I'm going to Spokane, WA in August. Spokane!?! I know...it's insane! I'll have to use up some work hours to browse the interweb for things to see/do. He is one lucky boy, as I've been shopping way too much at V.S. for cute stuff. I'm so excited!

25 June 2007

Oy, what a weekend

Or should maybe it should read "What a Friday"

Started off the evening at Jack and Buster's house. From what I can recall, I found good parking right away. I think I may have blacked-out because I don't remember much after that. I think we went to Downtown to a bar called 7grand. You had to go up a couple of flights of stairs and I'm quite surprised I didn't fall down. I was wearing heels afterall. Went up to the bar and ordered everyone drinks. Hey, I was feeling a bit generous. Sigh...I wish I can remember the rest of the evening.

Yesterday, Buddy and I went to watch Evan Almighty. It was a pretty entertaining movie. I heart Steve Carrel and since the movie was receiving mixed review, I had to support him. There was a little girl sitting right behind us, who had a case of the giggles. Her laugh was so infectious, I found myself laughing at some scenes that she and I only found funny.

Can't wait for vacay! The following month, I'm going to visit G again.

I'm a bad work-out partner

Yesterday, I was supposed to meet with Jack at the gym. I left work a little early to tend to the puppy, so I had time to motivate myself for a sweat session.

Instead, I went to Happy Hour with Mel at El Torito Grille, which, coincidentally, is located downstairs from my gym. After a few rounds of cuba libres, I was done.

I suck.

Out of energy

Since coming home from my trip to Seattle, I've been running on "E". I've been running around every day, working, while trying to keep an active social life. And to add, my puppy contracted a cough while I was away. She's been keeping me up most of the night, but I don't mind. I feel terrible that she got sick while I was away at play.

The rest of June looks to be very busy for me - a couple of shows, movie at Hollywood Cemetary on Sunset blvd (how fun!), Buddy's 16th birthday, movies, an evening at LACMA, shopping, eating out, etc etc. I'm sure some sleep time will be squeezed in there!

This season's Top Chef is going to be good!!

08 June 2007

I'm back

At 2:00PM on Saturday, I went to the Burbank airport to check in my luggage for my Seattle flight. After printing out my boarding ticket, which read 5:40 boarding time, I went to Annie and Andy's wedding, not too far from the airport. The ceremony was sweet, Annie looked great, and Andy didn't have a beard (must have whacked it off after the Indian ceremony.) It ended at about 3:15, and the reception didn't start til 4:30.

A bunch of us headed down to Tujunga for the reception and waited around for the open-bar to begin...yaay for open-bar weddings!! I had my eye on the time since I didn't want to miss my boarding time. At 5:25, the wedding party was introduced to the reception. As soon as they announced the newly wed couple, I hopped in the car, drove back to the airport like a maniac. As soon as I got to terminal B, with an increased heart rate, an up-do, and MAC make-up still intact, it was 5:38!! With 2 minutes to spare, I perused the snack stand, but couldn't decide on peanuts or cashews. As I got closer to the podium, I noticed the boarding time started with a 6. Turns out, it was changed to 6:45!! Oh well, a girl can only learn from this lesson.

On my flight, I sat next to this really cool chick, Valerie. She was a talker, but she put me at ease, and the 2 hours went by rather quickly, aside from the free booze on the plane! OH YEAH! She had her coors light, and I with my Jack and Diet...mmmmm...we tried to pay the flight attendant, but she wouldn't take our money. As we approached to Seattle, I became anxious and excited to see G again. Valerie and I continued to make girl talk as we made our way throught the Sea-Tac airport with a slight buzz, and I spotted his shaved head amongst the crowd of welcomers. After Valerie and I exchanged numbers and said our good-bye, I ran to G's arms....aah, that felt good!

Overall, the trip was awesome. We had such a good time...I can't wait to see him again!

W E D D I N G S

I have three weddings to attend this year -
Annie and Andy in Burbank this Saturday
Cherryl and Jojit at the Wynn in Las Vegas in July
Melissa and Marcel in Elysian Park on Sept 15 (My bday!)

I'm excited for both couples; excited to shop for shoes and dresses, although I probably have a dozen to chose from.

I'm flying to Seattle this Saturday after the wedding. Can't wait!

31 May 2007

This December

I'm going to Guatemala for a few days. By myself.

I'm a little nervous, yet excited to go.

21 May 2007

Mani and Pedi with my Jack n' Coke, please!

I found a cute little nail salon in N. Hollywood called Mani-Kir Royale. You have to sign up for a $20 a year membership, and that gives you 20% off of their weekly featured services. Not only do you get a discount, you get booooooze!! Imagine that. Getting sloshed while you get your mani-pedi on! I can't wait to try it. They also have late hours, like midnight on the weekend, and I'm a fan already! Facials, waxing and massages are also offered at the salon...Perhaps this place will get the Chanel logo right!

10 May 2007

Chadaka Thai

Mmmm...Chadaka Thai. My mouth waters every time I think of this quaint restaurant in Burbank, CA. I'm meeting Mel, and possibly Sheryl and Trin, after work for Happy Hour. I think wine and well drinks is $1 off. Not bad, eh? Give it a shot if you're in the area.

Annie's wedding is the day I leave for Seattle. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but I'm gonna make my 6:40PM flight on tinme! I'll be in a dress and heels, jetting off to the Pacific Northwest. Aaahh, can't wait!

I wish I could see more shows. Seeing Travis at the Henry Fonda a few weeks ago brought back so many good memories. Free concerts, waiting over night to get a good spot in the pit, meeting new people...so fun! I think I just might go to the Puma part at the Roxy. I've never seen MSTRKRFT live and their songs are in constant rotation in my Ipod.

**bonus points for Joey's Rolex getting in the shot...man, my pup is high class**

I know a little secret

And I nearly blurted it out over the weekend. Do I have the right to be mad? I think so. Ugh. I'm ready to yell it out, but I just can't. It will eventually be revealed in one of my drunken stupors and I will be a mess. Mascara running and all.

I've been so busy with my pup. Buddy and I took her out to the Beverly Center over the weekend. The goal was to go to at least 2 stores. (I needed to buy dresses for weddings I need to attend) Bloomie's and H&M. Not too hard, right? We tried to board the elevator from the parking structure, and withing a minute of waiting, I hear "AAAWW MIGAWD he's soooo cute!!" Of course, I try to be polite, and say, "oh, thanks, *her* name is Naomi...she's a puggle...blah blah blah..." This schpeel was repeated 25x throughout our shopping trip. Big-ups to buddy for being the trooper and hanging out with Naomi while I perused Bloomies, H&M, Diesel, Club Monaco, Max&Co and Banana... Although I didn't purchase any dresses, I did get Buddy some clothes and cute lingerie and tops for me. Afterwards, we headed to Target in WeHo. Same scenario: lots of babes (albeit gay)went up to Naomi! We were nearly done shopping when a Target employee asked us to leave. Mind you, we had browsed 80% of the store, and about 4-5 employees petted her. I was gonna pay, but decided not to make my purchase since we had parked so far. Aaah...the life with Naomi...

Good news: Found my 6MP digital camera. Bad news: Purchased a 10MP last week, in a panic, because I couldn't find the other camera. Whatevs. I'll have 2. I'm all about excess.

Looking forward to: Mom's birthday @ Morton's (ssteeeaak!!) Annie's wedding, Spiderman 3 in Imax this weekend, 28weeks Later (sad face - Cillian Murphy will not be in this one), bbq/dinner @ Matt's - I'm bringing Naomi and dessert from Sara J's, maybe Puma party tomorrow, Seattle....

I'm at work. It's going to be busy. Ciao for now.

10 April 2007

Naomi the puggle

Naomi. The cutest puppy ever. Of course, everyone says that about their pet or child, but I'm right. Jk...She's the coolest little puppy. I'm so happy I got her. Naomi's sweet and snores really loud. Her first night home, she fell asleep on my tum-tum and kept rolling around. Socuteicouldnttakeit!

I can't locate my camera, but I'll show her off once I find it!

30 March 2007

Seattle in June

I've booked the hotel and flight for my upcoming Seattle trip. I can't believe I'm going to see G again. Super excited! My diet officialy started on Monday: coffee, cigs, alcohol and I'm good for the day...not quite, though. I've completely cut-off carbs all together, and only liquids after 6PM. Sugar-free Jello is liquid, right?

I need a new wardrobe!

20 March 2007

Danse with the stars

This season's Dancing with the Stars is going to be amazing. I was able to see a few: mailman from Cheers (forgot his name), Billy Ray Cyrus (yikes!), Laila Ali. All 3 performances did not disappoint one bit. All 3 were graceful, yet comical at the same time.

Speaking of comical, I also caught a glimpse of Ray J and Kim Kash's sex tape. Not hot at all, unfortch. Ray J kept making these obscene facial expressions. If ever I see a guy making that same fuck face at me, I'd seriously leave. Seriously. Kim's body is amazing...

A stressful week at work lead to 3 happy hours (Chevy's, Claim Jumper, The Rack) and 1 dinner with Jack (Macaroni Gill). Insane, I know. Hopefully, this forthcoming week will be stress-free and I'll hit the gym instead of downing margaritas and carbs.

In other news, I may be visiting G at the end of May. I want to see Bjork at the Sasquatch Music Festival in George, WA but I don't think there's an airport in the city. I suggested Seattle, but I made it known that I would feel bad if he had to drive 4 hours to see me. His response? "I would take a 7 hour train ride to see you" Totally unexpected response and it made me want to research flight/hotel deals ASAP.

There's also talks of going to NYC. I hope my friends and I don't lag and will actuall book a flight soon!!

12 March 2007

Looking forward to

-300 in IMAX (omgicantwait!)
-gym with Jack and Buster - yeah, it'll happen soon
-Cinespace for the Nylon party**happened already = way fun! Free vodka and beer!
-yard sale with my former co-worker - should be fun. She's about 62 and I can't wait to talk to her and receive some much needed advice
-a couple of hour long phone calls with Greg...it's become a weekend ritual

The time change is affecting me!

I had such a hard time going to sleel last night, so I struggled to wake up this morning. It's fairly slow and I think I'll reseach why the change ocurred 3 weeks early this year.

Had a good time this weekend. Went to Cinespace on Friday, which turned out to be a lot of fun! Saturday night, saw Ryan Gosling at a party in Downtown L.A. He's so good looking in person. After another party, we decided to head to this girl's house in Echo Park. This gay boy asked if I could give him and 2 of his friends a ride. I felt bad and was hesitant to say yes at first. As we arrived in Echo Park, I looked for my jacket in the back seat. It was chilly and I needed it. I searched and couldn't find it anywhere! I told Mikey that it was there before we left. I looked outside to see that one of the gay boys put it on! What a fucking douche! When I asked him for it, he had the nerve to reply, "oh, this is yours?" No shit, genius. It was in my car!

Didn't go to Disneyland afterall since shrooms was consumed Friday night. I think people got mad, but it wasn't my intention, nor the other parties involved, to hurt people's feelings.

I'm currently crushing on a total babe at work. Yeah, he's married, but I can still have my crush! I think he knows that I think he's cute, but I could care less. It's not like I'll ever act upon it....

06 March 2007

Holy cuh-rap! Mega Lotto jackpot is nearly $360mil

What do you do with all that money?

I'd donate at least 20 million to my motherland, have babies, adopt babies, buy an island, give my family and friends a comfortable life. That's all.

Went to San Francisco for a couple of days. So much fun! I was sad to leave so soon. I love that city and its people. This guy offered to give me and my friend a ride to a vegan restaurant. The offer was declined but totally regretted. Oh well. I guess it's just a lesson learned. I need to be more adventurous! Not, like, crazy adventure, but more of a "no big deal, who cares, you only live once" kinda of adventure...which that ride I file under.

I think I may be a no-go for Disneyland this Saturday. It's going to be so busy, I can't even begin to imagine how long the lines will be.

12 February 2007

I'm feeling a little distant

Yet I didn't change locations. Still here. I need to stop being so self-destructive, that's all. I need a vacation. Some place tropical would be ideal

The roses arrived at G's work yesterday. He was totally suprised and it made all the ladies jealous...and I'm sure some of the dudes were a little surprised that a boy received roses. I had a lot of fun doing it, even though I know I won't receive any from him...it's the thought that counts, right?

Happy valentine's day!

I may as well be japanese

I love sushi. I can eat it everyday. I'm craving it as I write this new entry. Too bad I don't have the same craving for Chinese food since it's way cheaper.

Oh, and I lost out on the ebay auction for the tix to Paley fest. Way relieved, but still bummed that I may not be able to go to this thing

Party on Saturday!

05 February 2007

$400 for 2 tix to MTR's PALEY FEST...OMG!

I just placed a bid for 2 tickets to the Museum of Television and Radio's Paley Fest to see the cast of The Office. Yes, I'm slightly obsessed, but I did try to purchase tickets online on Saturday morning, and I was just too late to buy them at face value.

I have no idea when the auction will end. Jeebus christ - I could've used the money to buy tickets to Coachella.

Yet another impulse buy (or bid)

31 January 2007

People's sensitivity level

Is on a rise these days. Is it just me, or do people seriously need to chill. Won't get into too many specifics, but just been noticing some things here and there - both in my personal life and in my career.

Buster's back from the NYC. Hush Hush this friday, but happy hour first with some peeps, then shopping at my favorite store of all time, Costco. I really want the Nintendo WII.

I just found out my best friend is pregnant! I'm so excited for her, she and Mike will be awesome parents.

Top Chef's on tonight...omgomgomg I'm super excited!

29 January 2007

Yeah, I've been pretty busy

Much has happened since my last entry.

Sam was eliminated from the finale of Top Chef (sad face) but my other fave, Elan, is going head-to-head with Marcel. I can't for the finale this Wed. I'm gonna be glued to the teli! Friday night, Mikey and I went to see The Shins perform at Amoeba records. They played 8 songs, both new and old. I've never seen them live before and I think they're a new fave band.
Afterwards, we were planning on going to the well for happy hour, but somehow that plan was thwarted by free booze and food! We headed out to an art gallery on Franklin for an opening. Good food, good art, and free booze = a very happy Rosie! Went to Fader mag party in Echo Park. More free booze, but it was budweiser and some malt liquor. Not a fan. Then this dude starts sweet talking me while I was waiting for Mikey to finish up in the bathroom. Turns out he was only trying to sell me some hash. No thanks, got the medical mj, brah... Stopped by the Short Stop (hahaha) to get my dance on. Went to another party in Venice. It was this amazing 3 story loft. Saw Davey, Andy and Tracey...hung out there until 5 or so. I did spend about an hour playing guitar hero with this really cute boy. And by boy, I do mean barely 21. We made great guitar hero music together.

Oh, did I mention I went to Vegas the week before for Andy's bday? Lots of fun and won some dough.

With that said, people who create myspace pages for their pets are really, really retarded. That's all.

15 January 2007

Sam of Top Chef, oh how I love thee

Part of my MLK weekend consisted of a Top Chef marathon. About 5 hours of pure reality tv bliss...It was nuts! My luvv for Sam was reintroduced thanks to this marathon. Maybe it's his culinary creations, his humble way, or that he's a diabetic and wears an insulin bag. (Who knew I was a sucker for men with chronic illnesses?)
Asside from a slothful stint in front of the tv, my friend I attempted to see a show on Saturday. It was freezing and all the alcohol consumed couldn't raise my body's temperature. My BAC, on the other hand, was probably beyond the legal limit! All freezing aside, I had a great time at my friend's house. We played a couple rounds of Taboo and, you guessed it, drank some more. Afterwards, we went to my friend Mike's house to meet the rest of the crew. I mistakingly ingested something that I never wanted to. It was my fault for being so reckless and thinking I'm invincible. Not cool. Never again.
